Scott County RDC opts not to capture excess assessed value for 26 pay 27; approves Baker Tilly invoices

At its May 15 meeting the Scott County RDC voted not to collect excess assessed value for 26 pay 27 (letter to the Auditor) and approved two Baker Tilly invoices totaling $9,534 for the TIF report and Abstract/Gateway assistance.
Jason Semler of Baker Tilly presented the firm’s annual report to the Scott County Redevelopment Commission on May 15 and advised the commission of a new law that creates a June 15 deadline to decide whether to capture excess assessed value.
The commission presented a letter to the Auditor stating it does not wish to collect any excess assessed value for 26 pay 27. JR Ward moved to sign the presented letter and Jill Baker seconded; the motion carried four to zero after Vice President Brad Stotts had entered the meeting.
Two Baker Tilly invoices were then presented for payment: $6,625 for the TIF report and $2,909 for Abstract and Gateway Assistance, for a combined total of $9,534. JR Ward moved to pay the invoices and Jill Baker seconded; the motion carried four to zero.
Earlier in the meeting the commission had also approved minutes from its Feb. 24, 2026 meeting. With no other business, the commission adjourned.
