New Hyde Park trustees approve contracts, municipal-code amendment and parade; new restaurant permit granted

At its June 18 meeting the Village of New Hyde Park Board of Trustees unanimously approved several municipal resolutions and routine license applications.
The board approved Abstract No. 26-02 (motion by Trustee Ed Quinlan, seconded by Deputy Mayor Madhvi Nijjar) and authorized the mayor to enter into an agreement with the law firm Forchelli Deegan Terrana (motion by Trustee Rainer Burger, seconded by Trustee Eve Sheikh). The trustees also authorized an agreement with PFM Productions Inc. (motion by Deputy Mayor Nijjar, seconded by Trustee Burger). All three motions were recorded as unanimously approved.
The board adopted a resolution declaring an unlisted action under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (S.E.Q.R.A.) with a negative declaration related to Chapter 195 and approved an amendment to Chapter 195 of the municipal code (motions moved and seconded by Deputy Mayor Nijjar, Trustee Quinlan, Trustee Burger and Trustee Sheikh as recorded), both adopted unanimously.
On permits and local business approvals, the board approved a new landscaping license for P & RL Landscaping Corp (182 Putnam Ave., Freeport), a new carting approval for AVF Development Corp (52 2nd Ave., Garden City Park), and a new restaurant permit for Pho Hanoi at 1200 Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park. The board also approved a request from New Hyde Park Memorial High School to schedule its 2026 Homecoming Day parade for Saturday, Sept. 19, with the parade route and school parking-lot use specified in the application.
