The Village of Enon Council on June 23 authorized closing a portion of Coronado from Miramar to Cimmaron for a Halloween block party after a resident reported neighborhood support. The motion to authorize the closure was moved by Council member Leist, seconded by Council member Whitacre, and passed unanimously (Leist, Sweet, Beair, Whitacre, Davoli voted yes).
Police Chief Jeff Wise reported several departmental updates: Officer Kramer has returned the Bike Patrol to active duty; new officer Jonathon Fields was presented to council and will begin service following a required 40-hour refresher course; and the Clark County Sheriff's Department donated tasers to the village police department. Chief Wise said the village will need to purchase batteries and transfer cords for the donated devices. The minutes do not record a date for the planned Halloween event or the anticipated start date for Officer Fields beyond the refresher requirement.
The item was recorded as a police report and the council took formal action only on the street-closure authorization. No public comment was recorded opposing the closure in the minutes.
