Jackson Council approves masonry, electrical and plumbing bids for Dumont Park shelter

Public Works Director Tony Oxborough told the Jackson City Council on July 7 that Tri‑State Construction had solicited subcontractor bids for the Dumont Park Shelter House project and recommended awarding the masonry, electrical and plumbing contracts to the low or sole bidders.
Oxborough reported the masonry bid of $30,414 was submitted by D & M Masonry, the low electrical bid of $11,550 was submitted by M & H Electric, and the plumbing bid of $17,940 was submitted by Countryside Plumbing. He said Tri‑State will continue soliciting bids for building and concrete work and will provide temporary fencing for the construction area at no cost to the City. “I’m hoping to finalize the rest of the quotes at the next City Council meeting,” Oxborough said.
A motion to approve the three bids (masonry to D & M Masonry, electrical to M & H Electric, plumbing to Countryside Plumbing) was made by Alderman Joe Pell, seconded by Alderman John Weland, and carried unanimously.
Councilmembers did not set the remaining portion of the contract in this meeting; Oxborough said staff will return with additional quotes for building and concrete work.
