Select Board renews waste contract and hears recycling cost increase; several administrative notices delivered

At its June 17 meeting the Otisfield Select Board renewed the town's contract with Maine Waste Energy and heard that EcoMaine intends to raise recyclables handling fees from $110 to $135, effective July 31. Administrative Assistant Julie Ward presented the items under administrative assistant updates and said the EcoMaine increase is expected to take effect on July 31; the board was notified but took no separate vote on the EcoMaine change.
Ward also said an incident at the Community Hall injured a volunteer during a Community Lunch and that an incident report must be completed. She presented a quitclaim deed for a lake property that needs revisions to meet Registry of Deeds guidelines. Ward noted that John O'Donnell Associates has mailed notices about property revaluations and that meetings with assessors will be offered at the Town Office Annex for residents who request them.
Separately, Ward announced that Sarah Burnham has resigned from the Planning Board. The board also assigned members to present designated warrant articles at the forthcoming Town Meeting for the FY2027 warrant.
