Dunn County approves multiple road contractor payments totaling $330,283.46 for ongoing projects

Commissioner Pelton moved to pay Central Specialties $130,348.57 for pay estimate #3 on the 119th Ave. SW project; Commissioner Heiser seconded and the board voted unanimously by roll call to approve the payment. The board also approved a $19,036.50 payment to Martin Construction for pay estimate #4 on 99th Ave. SW (motion by Heiser, second Pelton; roll call all aye), $14,490.16 to Northern Improvement for Pinewood Meadows Subdivision pay estimate #4 (motion by Heiser, second Pelton; all aye), $106,679.81 to Baranko Brothers for pay estimate #13 on the 7th St./113th Ave./10th St. project (motion by Pelton, second Olson; all aye), and $59,728.42 to Schwartz Construction for pay estimate #6 on 103rd Ave. SW (motion by Heiser, second Pelton; roll call all aye). Combined, the five pay estimates reported in the meeting minutes sum to $330,283.46.
Engineers from Civil Science, Bartlett & West and Northern Plains Engineering provided brief project updates. Carl Rohde of Civil Science said final design work is in progress for the 86th Ave. & 9th St. SW project and that environmental and cultural reviews are underway; Bartlett & West reported the 98th Ave. SW permit application work and ongoing construction oversight. Road Superintendent Mike Karey told the board that mowing schedules will be posted online, mag crews are operating, and staff are being shifted internally to fill vacancies.
The board approved the payments and accepted the engineering updates without further public discussion. The commissioners recorded the approvals with recorded roll-call votes for the pay estimates.
Next steps: engineering teams will finalize permit submissions and cost estimates where indicated, and the road department will continue scheduled maintenance and project oversight.
