Bucklin council accepts consent order from Kansas Attorney General on KOMA matter

Councilmember Justin Engel moved to accept the Consent Order; Councilmember Nichole Pearce seconded and the motion carried 3–0.
Earlier in the meeting the council recessed into a 20-minute executive session for attorney–client privileged communications about a proposed consent judgment received from the Kansas Attorney General’s Office. The executive session began at 7:39 p.m. with Mayor Cody Warden, Councilmembers Justin Engel, Nichole Pearce and Noel Stiles present, and City Attorney Kevin Salzman participating by phone. The council returned to open session at 7:59 p.m. No action was taken during the return to open session prior to the vote accepting the consent order in regular session.
The minutes record the council’s acceptance of the Consent Order; the document itself was presented to the council as a recommended disposition from the Attorney General’s Office.
