Bucklin council approves revenue-neutral rate and adopts 2026 budget

The Bucklin City Council on Sept. 15 approved a resolution setting the city’s Revenue Neutral Rate for 2026 and adopted the 2026 budget as certified after separate advertised public hearings that produced no public comment.
Mayor Cody Warden opened the Revenue Neutral Rate hearing at 7:00 p.m. and closed it at 7:10 p.m. after receiving no comments. Councilmember Justin Engel moved to approve Resolution No. 2025-007; Councilmember Noel Stiles seconded and the motion carried 3–0.
Mayor Warden then opened the public hearing on the 2026 City of Bucklin Budget at 7:10 p.m. The council again received no public comment and closed the hearing at 7:20 p.m. Engel moved to approve the 2026 budget as certified; Stiles seconded and the motion passed 3–0.
The consent agenda adopted earlier in the meeting included Appropriations Ordinance No. 25-09-15 for $47,271.97 and the approval of minutes from Aug. 18 and Aug. 25, 2025.
The council took the budget and tax-rate actions in open session. The meeting adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
