Kansas Board of Accountancy approves FY2020 budget, keeps fees unchanged

The Kansas Board of Accountancy on Aug. 23 approved its consent calendar and adopted the fiscal year 2020 budget without raising license fees.
Executive Director Susan L. Somers told the Board members that staff would review financials for each fiscal year to determine whether fee changes were necessary. The budget the Board approved included increased expenditures to cover the salary increase awarded to state employees by the legislature.
Corlene R. Lange moved to approve the consent calendar, including the FY2020 budget as presented; Michael L. Marsh seconded the motion. Upon a vote, the motion carried.
Board members present at the meeting included Vice-Chair Sean P. Weaver, CPA; Jeffery Bottenberg (public member); Corlene R. Lange, CPA; Michael L. Marsh, CPA; and Kathryn J. Mitchell, CPA. The meeting took place at the Landon State Office Building in Topeka.
