Separately, the council reviewed and adopted a new pay scale governing overtime, rates, cost‑of‑living adjustments and certification‑based step increases. Under the approved scale, police will be scheduled as full‑time officers at 40 hours per week; salary employees are based on a 45‑hour week before overtime. Maintenance starting pay will be $18.00 per hour, rising to $19.00 after the first certification and $21.63 after a second certification; workers remain eligible for annual raises. The council approved the pay scale in a motion by Ronald Moeller, seconded by Cheryl Lister, making it effective in the current pay period.
