The Unified School District No. 505 Board of Education accepted Superintendent Craig Bagshaw’s retirement effective June 30, 2026 during its Jan. 8 meeting.
Board member Maggy Robison moved to accept Mr. Bagshaw’s retirement as presented; Josh Baker seconded the motion and it passed 7-0. Bagshaw attended the meeting and presented routine reports before the retirement motion.
In his report, Superintendent Craig Bagshaw said St. Paul had nine students signed up for baseball, 14 for softball and 12 for track. He told the board that new district buses have problems, that he has received a $500 offer to sell bus No. 24 for scrap and that Kallie Beachner and Dan Vitt are working on possible donations of beef for the school. Bagshaw also said the state is examining an increase in required calendar hours and that districts may not be allowed to start before Labor Day if changes proceed.
The motion accepting his retirement was recorded as passing 7-0. Later in the meeting the board met in executive session to discuss personnel matters under Kansas statute 75-4319; the open meeting resumed with no action taken.
