Leesville council approves multiple resolutions, postpones DOTD airport agreement to July 13
Summary
At its June 22 meeting the council approved Resolution 67 to purchase a tractor for the municipal airport and passed Resolutions 69–72 covering a street servitude agreement, equipment purchases for the Ft. Polk vegetation contract and public works, an event alcohol permit for July 11, and overtime pay for the police chief. A separate DOTD airport agreement resolution was postponed until July 13.
The Leesville City Council on June 22 approved a package of resolutions addressing airport equipment, infrastructure agreements, public-works purchases, an event permit and a personnel pay authorization.
Councilmember Herring moved and Councilmember Phillip Hunt seconded Resolution 67 of 2026, authorizing the City to purchase a John Deere tractor for the Leesville Municipal Airport; the motion passed with no public comments recorded in the minutes. A separate resolution authorizing the mayor to sign and execute any and all agreements with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development related to the Leesville Municipal Airport was postponed until the July 13 council meeting.
The council also adopted Resolution 69 of 2026, authorizing the mayor to sign a street servitude agreement for the 1st Street Ballpark Lift Station (Project No. A9-19109-DA); Resolution 70 of 2026, authorizing multiple equipment purchases for the Ft. Polk Vegetation Contract and the Public Works Department for fiscal year 2026–2027; Resolution 71 of 2026, authorizing on-premise alcohol consumption at the Leesville Event Center for an approved event on July 11, 2026; and Resolution 72 of 2026, authorizing overtime payment for the Leesville City Police Chief. Each resolution was moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes and passed with no public comments.
The minutes do not include individual roll-call tallies for each resolution. The DOTD-related resolution was explicitly postponed and will be taken up at the July 13 meeting, with a note in the minutes that the action must be executed by the next mayor.
