Parmer County commissioners approve routine minutes, payroll, accounts payable, bond renewals and an upgraded antivirus subscription

At the June 23 meeting, the Parmer County Commissioner's Court approved a slate of routine items including minutes from the June 9 meeting, the Treasurer's Payroll Report for June 15, and payment of accounts payable for invoices dated June 16 and 23.
County Treasurer Sharon May presented the accounts payable list. Commissioner Kirk Frye moved to approve the minutes and the payroll report; Commissioner Kenny White moved to approve the accounts payable; motions were seconded and each passed by majority vote.
The court approved renewal bonds for courthouse deputies that were presented. Bonds for Sonia Gomez and for the City of Friona were not yet received and will be brought to the court for approval when provided.
Newtex IT Solutions recommended renewing the VIPRE antivirus subscription; the renewal upgrades the product to Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) for stronger protection and carries a higher cost than last year. Commissioner Charles Wilkins moved to approve the renewal; Commissioner Kenny White seconded and the motion carried by majority vote.
The court also approved continuing-education hours for the Tax Assessor and for JP3 by recorded motions and majority votes. Treasurer Sharon May reminded attendees of an employee "Healthy County" event scheduled for July 7 at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
With no further business, Commissioner White moved to adjourn; Commissioner Wilkins seconded and the court adjourned at 10:41 a.m.
