Treynor board authorizes $121,417 SBRC enrollment-increase request; approves early graduations and APEX contract

The Treynor Community School District board voted Dec. 8 to authorize administration to seek a Modified Supplemental Amount of $121,417 from the School Budget Review Committee for increased enrollment.
The motion, made by Ms. Olson and seconded by Mr. Wilkie, carried 3-0 after Mr. Christensen left the meeting earlier, leaving a three-member quorum. The board recorded the vote as unanimous among members present.
In the same meeting, the board approved early-graduation requests for Audrey Geyer, Kiera Vorthmann and Chase Killinger (motion by Mr. Wilkie, seconded by Ms. Olson; vote 3-0) and approved the APEX programming and services contract for the 2025–2026 school year (motion by Ms. Olson, seconded by Mr. Wilkie; vote 3-0).
At the start of the meeting the board also approved its consent agenda 4-0, which included routine financial items and personnel actions. The consent agenda contained the resignation of custodian Anita Gatlin and the recommendation to hire Robert "Junior" Tippery as night custodian; the hire was approved as part of the consent motion.
Superintendent Dr. Joel Beyenhof reminded the board of an early-notification incentive deadline on Dec. 15 at 4:00 p.m. and noted administration may call a special meeting on Dec. 16 or 17 to act on resignations received through the incentive window so positions can be posted before winter break.
The board set its next regular meeting for Jan. 12, 2026.
