Warren commission plans replacement of median trees, reviews Federal Reserve site tree-clearing complaint

Wayne DeFeo said on April 15 that trees destroyed in Warren Township's center medians over the winter will be replaced and that a final replacement plan should be ready by May 11. The commission said two varieties of native trees will be planted.
Commissioner Lance Blick provided an update on a complaint about tree clearing at the Federal Reserve site. Blick said he worked with Mike Mullen in the township Engineering Department; Mullen visited the site and spoke to the site representative, who told township staff the trees removed were included in the site's original plans and that an extensive tree-replacement plan will be followed as the project progresses. The township will continue to follow up as construction proceeds.
No formal enforcement action or vote was recorded at the April meeting. Commissioners set no additional requirements at the meeting and will monitor implementation of replacement plans and any future filings related to the site.
