Utility Superintendent Torey Zuver told the council the existing interior coating is deteriorating and that structural members in the roof area are showing rust and corrosion. Zuver said the tank remains operational but the work cannot be performed during cold weather, so depending on contractor availability the project may not be completed until 2027.
Council approved the plans and directed the clerk to publish the bidding notice; the plans were prepared by JEO Consulting Group. The council did not set a specific project timeline beyond acknowledging seasonal limits and contractor scheduling could push work into next year.
