Council approves liquor license for new downtown eatery The Roost on Main

The City of Chadron on June 15 voted unanimously to approve a Retail Class C beer, wine and spirits license for C's & B's, LLC doing business as The Roost on Main at 164 Main Street.
Applicant Cheana Wright told the council she and partners have been cleaning and remodeling the building and "hope to open by July 4th," and said the business will initially serve hot sandwiches with a possible menu expansion later. Police Chief Rick Hickstein welcomed the Wrights to the community and said he looks forward to working with them.
Councilmember Shane Shepherd introduced Resolution 2026-45, which notes the application was filed with the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission under Section 53-131 of the Liquor Control Act and that legal notice was published June 4, 2026. Mayor Klein called the roll; votes were recorded as Aye: Andersen, Graves, Klein, Oleksy, Shepherd; Nay: None.
The resolution directs the City Clerk to send a copy of the council's approval to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission and notes a $17.11 publication cost. The council record shows no objections or contested testimony during the hearing.
The Roost on Main will be required to comply with applicable state liquor laws and city regulations as it proceeds with licensing and opening preparations.
