Hamilton to repair well, prepare for large fiber installation and resurface Walton Street this summer

Water and public-works staff told the Hamilton City Council on June 8 that well number two remains offline and is scheduled to be brought back online Wednesday, pending paperwork and county coordination, according to water/sewer staffer Ben.
Ben said the Georgia Environmental Protection Division conducted a site inspection and did not object to the fire-department-adjacent well location; he added that the city is awaiting final paperwork and is coordinating with the county.
Ben also reported a large fiber cable installation slated to run through Hamilton next year. He and colleague Ashley have placed locators around the city to prevent damage, and the minutes state the company is expected on site June 15. The minutes record that no traffic or service issues are anticipated.
In separate housekeeping items, the council listed a planned Walton Street resurfacing in July and Harris County parking-lot work tied to that project. Council documents show event and construction timing but do not specify exact start or completion dates for the resurfacing work.
The minutes do not include public comment on the water, broadband or streets items. The city manager noted staff will continue paperwork and coordination with county and state partners as needed.
