Rolla council approves seasonal hires, overtime payout and public‑works updates

The council also approved hiring Duane Henry as a part‑time seasonal mower at $15.00 per hour and approved a purchase of parts and supplies from Ross McDougall at $1.50 per pound.
The Police Committee reported 141 calls for service and 31 citations in April. Council approved a 44‑hour overtime payout for Officer Kom to cover hours worked during Officer Charette’s medical absence.
Administrative Committee action included appointing Damond Schemmel to the Rolla Airport Authority Board; Schemmel abstained from that vote. The committee reported waiving vendor fees for the Rolla Ragtop Festival and confirmed that Microsoft 365 was purchased for $129.99 per year to allow updates to Banyon Software.
All items reported from the committees were accepted by the full council by recorded motions and votes during the meeting; the meeting minutes record unanimous approvals where indicated and two separate abstentions tied to votes involving members with the same surnames as appointees or hires.
