Lago Vista council appoints Erin A. Higginbotham as presiding municipal court judge

The Lago Vista City Council unanimously appointed Erin A. Higginbotham as presiding judge of the Lago Vista Municipal Court during its July 16 meeting.
The council announced the appointment after an executive session in which personnel matters were discussed under Texas Government Code §§551.071 and 551.074. A council member moved to appoint Higginbotham and received a second; the motion passed with all members voting in favor. After the vote, Higginbotham spoke briefly to thank the council and said she looks forward to serving the city.
The city attorney and council noted that the formal resolution would be prepared with an effective date to reflect council direction.
