The Rolla City Council handled a series of routine but consequential items during the April 15 meeting, approving personnel changes, grants, a land-lease bid, permit extensions and an appointment.
Administrative Committee business included approval of a 3% salary increase for Lisa Tackett (motion carried unanimously) and reinvestment of CD 5417 for four months at a 3.12% interest rate. Council accepted a single land-lease bid of $42.00 per acre for 64 crop acres (three-year term) from Dillon Slaubaugh.
Under City Sales Tax Committee recommendations, council approved three grants: $7,500 to Rolla Archery Club, $10,000 to the City of Rolla, and $10,000 to the Mt Pleasant School Playground Committee. The Mt Pleasant School grant was recorded as passing with Councilmember Willie Fritz voting Nay while Booth, Counts, Albert, Frydenlund and Schemmel voted Aye (vote recorded 5–1).
Council also approved a one-year extension on two Booth Inc. building permits (Permits #2023-2 and #2024-3) and hired Tory Danielson as cemetery caretaker for 2026. All listed motions except one recorded Nay were unanimous. The meeting adjourned at 7:44 p.m.
