Jason (identified at the meeting), who said he is the committee chair, told the board the June tally showed roughly 98% of eligible meters were participating and that current totals include some customers who opted in after initial eligibility tallies, producing more subscribers than initially counted. "As we sit here now, we currently actually have more participants than we have eligible members in the program," Jason said, noting the figure remains subject to final meter-level reconciliation.
He explained a rate change at the New Hampshire Electric Co-op effective Aug. 1 (energy component rising from 11.17¢/kWh to just under 14¢/kWh) likely contributed to higher opt-ins. The committee said it will return with more detailed consumption and subscription breakdowns next month and reminded the board the community power contract will require renewal considerations in November.
The committee also described its membership (six full members plus an alternate, plus ex officio representation) and said it will formalize officer roles and meeting cadence as it moves from launch to operational oversight.
The board asked for continued reporting and more granular data on default vs. opt-in choices in the next monthly update.
