Union City Borough Council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution authorizing an application to the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) for a Broadband Ready Community designation and to appoint the Erie Area Council of Governments as the borough's Municipal Broadband Champion.
Councilor James Kerns moved the resolution and Councilor Melissa Winkler seconded the motion. The minutes note that a public meeting on broadband earlier that evening had no members of the public in attendance.
The resolution authorizes staff to proceed with the PBDA application and to coordinate with Erie Area COG as the municipal champion for the borough’s submission.
