Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips described recommendations from consultant Bob Carpenter (Insight) and Engineer Tim Wells: replace the 24‑inch clay tile where the sinkhole formed, reconnect pipes feeding the sinkhole to the 24‑inch line, replace the adjacent catch basin with a larger unit and replace roughly 10 feet of pipe. Mansfield submitted a bid of $22,295 and McLallen Construction quoted $23,450; both bids required the Borough to provide a truck during the project.
On a motion by Councilor Steadman, seconded by Councilor Osborn, Council awarded the work to Mansfield; the motion carried unanimously. The Streets Department will coordinate scheduling and provide the required truck during construction.
