School board approves new secondary math textbooks, vendors contracted for multi-year adoption

Implementation and cost: Vendors will provide intensive professional development beginning Aug. 19 and ongoing coaching throughout a seven-year adoption cycle. Contracts and final costs are being finalized in negotiations; staff posted estimates in the board materials. Board members emphasized practical logistics — issuing lockers, class sets, and the need to avoid unnecessary wear — and asked staff to make textbooks accessible in ways that minimize burden on teachers.
Vote: The board approved the titles and the adoption plan unanimously.
