Evart shooting teams return from state and national competition with top finishes; one athlete signs with Olivet College

The Evart Public Schools board recognized members of the district’s shooting-sports program and heard a season recap from coach Jennifer Nutel. The program, in its fourth year, logged multiple top conference and state finishes: the team recorded conference first- and second-place results in trap, 5-stand and ski events with nearly every team member placing, and seven athletes were invited to nationals.
Nutel highlighted individual achievements, including a commitment from an athlete named Bailey to continue shooting at Olivet College in the fall, and noted athletes who placed in top positions at state meets. She described the intensity of national competition and said several students exceeded their averages at nationals.
Board members thanked coaches, the athletic director and community volunteers for supporting the program; the board framed the recognition as part of routine celebration of student extracurricular achievement.
