Community leaders at the site told the reporter the effort was about more than a one‑time handout. They said the distribution aimed to bring neighbors together and to point residents toward year‑round food assistance and support services.
A participant at the distribution described the work as personally meaningful. “To see people smile and say thank you is better than a paycheck at times,” the participant said.
