For the fire station, the presenter said exterior siding is largely complete, interior sheetrock and utilities installations are near finish and that roofing and tower work were in progress.
Project staff also updated the council on other municipal projects: the gas building is nearly ready for occupancy, the public works facility is moving toward interior finishes, the recreation center gym is nearing completion and the new traffic signal at Avenue G and Station Street went live June 30. Staff emphasized coordination with state agencies for reimbursement and the need to meet multi‑year expenditure deadlines on grants tied to streetscape work.
Council members asked about state matching funds, scheduling, and next steps. Staff said some prior years’ revenues were updated and that roughly $3.5 million in state match was reflected in recent updates; Del Sol said closeout inspections by state engineers would unlock the remaining matches. Council received the update; staff will return with schedules and pricing materials for work tied to revenue sources and financing plans.
