Francesca Andre discusses co-authoring children's books with her son

"My son is about to be 7 years old... he does act like he's, like, 77," Andre said, describing Gustavo as energetic and wise. Andre said A Very Impatient Caterpillar grew from conversations with her son about patience and transformation; she contrasted that book with From Cocoon to Wings, which she designed for slightly older children.
Andre described the collaboration as "a very fun, creative, therapeutic healing thing for us to do" and said the books are designed to prompt conversations between parents and children about perseverance and confidence. She recounted a library reading at the Newark Public Library in which her son interrupted to skip ahead and shake fans' hands, adding a candid moment of co-author participation.
Andre said the books aim to make children and parents reflect on growth: "For children, I want to remind them that growth takes time... For parents, I think these books can be great conversation to teach your children about perseverance, confidence, doing hard things, and patience." The host noted the books are available on Amazon and highlighted the author's social media handle given on the show.
