The commission approved a pool and accompanying fence at 1290 Orchard Ridge Road during its July 14 meeting.
Jill Bame presented the site layout and explained that the pool is partially located in what the ordinance defines as a side yard; the project includes landscaping and a pool house. Engineer Leah Michaels told the commission the applicant proposes three leaching basins to manage runoff and that the drainage plan is sufficient. The commission noted a written letter from a nearby neighbor (former commissioner Connie Salome) expressing no objection.
A commissioner moved to approve the plan as presented, a second was recorded, and the motion passed by voice vote. The commission encouraged preservation of existing trees and compliance with standard permitting and drainage details.
The applicant may proceed to permitting, subject to standard engineering and building inspections.
