"We really appreciate Mr. Jewett's heartfelt kindness and support for our public safety officers' health," a staff member said while describing the donor's background and recommending acceptance. A commissioner moved to accept the $15,000 gift, direct the city manager to administer the funds consistent with the donor's intent, and authorize a formal letter of appreciation; the motion carried.
The funds will be used exclusively toward the gym remodel for the Public Safety Department. The commission expressed gratitude for the donation and asked staff to coordinate improvements and acknowledgments consistent with city procedures.
