Superintendent reports partial occupancy at intermediate school; donated pool building underway

Superintendent Dr. Lohr said the district has received "a partial occupancy for the intermediate school" while a handful of safety and systems items remain before full occupancy. He listed adjustments needed to the fire-system detectors, reinforced air-return components, some hot-water corrections and a required elevator inspection. "The kitchen passed the building inspection," he added, but said the Department of Health must complete its inspection before that area can be used.

Dr. Lohr also said work has begun on a pool building behind the campus, attributing progress to "some generous donation" and a contribution of electric and internet services from Doo2Cable. "If you've driven to the back of campus you see that the pool building is being erected there," he said, and thanked donors by name.

On operations, Dr. Lohr said most administrators are taking summer leave while staff plan professional development and preparation for the new year. He told trustees a hard copy of the collective bargaining agreement requested by the board has been provided for review. Separately, staff reported difficulties with a scheduling software vendor after a corporate buyout; staff said fixes made the online schedules "95% accurate" and pledged the schedules would be 100% correct by the end of the week or, if not, to post an accurate temporary Google Doc while the vendor issues are resolved.
