County executive reports progress on community center pool and animal shelter partnership with MSU veterinary students

He said a previous visit resulted in 18 cats treated. Barcia said MSU will help advise the county on addressing feral cat issues and that some feral cats may not be adoptable because they have not been socialized.
"They brought their mobile, medical unit up to the shelter... for free did a vaccination and, neutering and spaying of 11 cats," Barcia said, adding that the prior visit treated 18 cats.
The report concluded with appreciation for contractors (Spence Brothers) and county staff involved in the projects. No formal actions or votes were requested during the executive's report; the board proceeded to other agenda items and later adjourned.
