Minuteman school committee unanimously approves five-year contract for superintendent/director

The Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School Committee unanimously approved an employment contract June 9 for the superintendent/director covering July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2031.

Chair Jeff Stulenieden announced the vote after the committee said it had spent multiple hours in negotiation and executive-session deliberations: "We are very happy to offer you this contract," he said as the committee completed a roll-call that recorded all members voting yes. The motion to approve the contract was moved by Pam Nurse and seconded by Alice DeLuca.

The committee also separately voted to permit the superintendent to sell back 10 vacation days for the current year, a term that could not legally be incorporated in the written contract. That motion passed on a subsequent roll-call vote.

Superintendent Heidi Driscoll commented on the deliberations leading to the vote, noting that the committee and the negotiation team had met multiple times in executive session and had "deliberated on this." The incoming contract was presented to the committee as the product of those negotiations.

Amy Perrault, who was recognized during the meeting and who will move to a new post outside the district beginning July 1, said she would be "absolutely honored to continue to serve" while the committee completed the contract vote and related personnel business.

Next steps: the committee completed both votes during the June 9 meeting; the superintendent evaluation process and other personnel items were noted as upcoming agenda items at the July reorganizational meeting.
