Finance Director Jennifer Cichinski presented the engineers’ reports and said the total assessments for FY 26‑27 are about $253,008.13 — a figure higher than last year largely because the Loma Rica Ranch landscape and lighting district was combined into the consolidated roll. Cichinski explained the resolutions confirm engineer reports, approve assessment diagrams and levies, and authorize the county to place assessments on the tax roll before the county deadline.
City Engineer Bjorn Jones said maintenance for most districts is contracted to Weiss Landscaping; most areas are maintained weekly and the city may support emergency repairs. On delinquent utility accounts, Cichinski said 74 accounts totaling $98,226.25 were eligible for placement on the tax roll but that figure could decrease if account holders pay or set up arrangements before submittal.
Council moved and approved the assessment resolutions and the delinquent‑accounts placement by roll call (recorded votes show four yes and one no on the delinquent accounts vote). Staff will finalize assessments and submit them to the county before the August deadline.
