Community Initiatives Facilitator Tera Wick presented a memorandum from the Ouray County Community Calendar Working Group recommending a single, web‑based event calendar to list public events across the county. The working group — represented by the City of Ouray, the Ridgway Chamber and town staff — evaluated eight platforms and recommended Localist based on centralization, shareability, filterability, sustainability, visual appeal and ADA compliance.
Kailey Rhoten (City of Ouray) and Jon Hill (Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce) addressed the council and explained the features that led the committee to select Localist. Funding would be shared among partners; the Town of Ridgway’s contribution is $5,192 for 2026, $4,751 for 2027 and $4,978 for 2028. The council agreed to move forward and deploy the calendar in 2026.
The council’s action commits the town to a multi‑year subscription share; staff will return with implementation details and an item for inclusion in the 2026 budget.
