Pike County names bridge for Rick Anders; court authorizes small AT&T grant application for local clean-community group

Pike County Fiscal Court adopted a resolution on July 15 naming Bridge CR 1935 the Rick Andrews Memorial Bridge. Linda Anders, who said she was married to Rick Anders, addressed the court and thanked members for putting her late husband’s name on the bridge so his memory will continue in the community.
Separately, the court authorized Sharon to file a small AT&T grant application on behalf of the Pike County Clean Community Board, a local 501(c)(3) that evolved from the regional PRIDE program. Sharon explained that the group seeks funding for cleanup materials (bags, gloves, reflective vests and other supplies) and outreach to schools and community partners. The request was approved by roll call.
The court and attendees expressed appreciation for volunteer-led community groups that organize cleanups and stream-health efforts across the county.
