At its March 16, 2026 regular meeting, the Dolores County Board of County Commissioners appointed Nolan Hankins to the Dolores County Public Library Board and approved routine business including expenditures and meeting minutes.
Chair (speaker 1) read a letter from Mara Allen, the Dolores County Public Library bookkeeper, saying the library board recommended Hankins to fill the seat left vacant by the passing of long-time member Caroline Guston. The letter stated Nolan Hankins submitted a letter of intent, was interviewed by the library board and was considered "enthusiastic" and likely to bring perspective from younger community members.
The board moved and seconded the appointment; all members present voted yes. The board also approved expenditures after a brief review that included discussion of mag chloride and current fuel costs, and approved minutes from the March 2 regular meeting and March 10 expenditure meeting (with a correction noted concerning EMPG grama). The agenda had been amended at the start of the meeting to remove "Southwest Health Systems Ambulance Authorization to operate" from new business.
Chair (speaker 1) said the board would reconvene as the Board of Health at 09:30 and hold a 10:00 workshop with a Montrose HVAC representative later the same morning. The board adjourned to reconvene at 09:30.
