Ridgway adopts EV-charging fees, approves county MOU and ratifies patrol-vehicle purchase

At its Jan. 14 meeting the Ridgway Town Council approved several administrative and operational items by unanimous roll call votes.
Electric vehicle charging fees: Manager Neill presented Resolution No. 26-01 to establish fees for forthcoming EV charging stations in Hartwell Park. Staff proposed pricing aligned with Colorado Energy Office benchmarks: $0.12 per kilowatt-hour during off-peak hours and $0.20 per kilowatt-hour during peak hours, and noted the council could increase fees if the town wants to recover capital and maintenance costs. Councilmember Montague moved to approve the resolution; Councilor Scoville seconded and the resolution passed unanimously.
Intergovernmental MOU: The council adopted a 2026 Memorandum of Understanding with Ouray County covering 2026 operational funding requests, road and bridge apportionment and future goals. The Town Manager reported increased shares for emergency services and victim assistance resulting from reductions in grant funding. Councilor Grambley moved to adopt the MOU, Councilor Kroger seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Public safety equipment: The council ratified the purchase of a used 2019 Ford F-150 for the Ridgway Marshals Office at a purchase price of $29,994; the town’s share of replacement cost was reported as $6,000. Councilor Grambley moved and Councilmember Montague seconded the ratification; the motion carried unanimously.
Other actions: Council set a special meeting for Jan. 26 at 6:00 p.m. in the Decker Community Room to review design plans and the design-services contract for the Beaver Creek Diversion Restoration Project, appointed Terese Seal to the Planning Commission through Nov. 1, 2028, and received an update on the April 7, 2026 municipal election and the Town Manager’s monthly report.
