Oklahoma County commissioners approved a letter of commitment to support the City of Oklahoma City's application for a SAMHSA "Safety Through Recovery" grant, with county staff clarifying the county's role would be collaborative rather than imposing specific duties.
Brandy, speaking on behalf of staff, explained the letter states the county "intends to fulfill its role as a collaborative partner to the city of Oklahoma City by participating in cross system planning" and that, if awarded, the county would "collaborate when and where appropriate, but there is not a specific request at this time." The board moved, seconded and approved sending the letter by voice vote.
In the same session, the commissioners approved routine items on the consent docket, received and accepted claims and requisitions (including an added requisition 12701133 for a $10,000 self-insurance supplement for professional reporters), accepted donations of leftover aggregate and gravel from city projects for county use, and approved intergovernmental and service agreements including a fire equipment agreement with Deer Creek Fire Protection District and an OMES internet services agreement.
Mr. Barnes presented several routine contract and planning items such as a two-lot final plat and School Resource Officer contract renewals, each of which passed by voice vote. Commissioners recessed into an executive session and later returned to take final action on items 25 and 26, then adjourned.
