The council nominated City Manager James Otop for Place 4 on the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool Board of Trustees and voted unanimously to forward the nomination.
Staff explained the TML intergovernmental risk pool provides insurance and risk management services (workers' compensation, property, liability, cyber and auto coverage) for member cities. The nomination is for the board that oversees those services; council members said the city benefits from representation and wished the city manager luck in the election process, which will be held at a later date.
The motion to nominate was made from the dais and seconded; council voted to approve the nomination during the July 13 meeting.
