The Waukesha City Plan Commission unanimously approved final site-plan and architectural review Aug. 27 for Carroll University's Randall Health Sciences build-out at 114 S. Charles St.
Charlie (city staff) described the project as the conversion of the former Randall Elementary building into a health-sciences facility with a new entry vestibule at the southwest entrance, an interior ramp and stairs, reconfigured parking (parallel and perpendicular stripes), and a 15-foot landscape buffer along Charles Street. Staff recommended approval with conditions including that the fence along the south property line end at the front of the adjacent house, lighting color-temperature limits (not to exceed 4,000K) and engineering comments to be addressed.
Commission discussion clarified the intended fence placement, lighting and use of an existing adjacent dumpster enclosure for trash storage rather than adding new outdoor trash areas. A motion to approve the final site plan and architectural review, subject to staff comments, passed by voice vote with no opposition.
