The Waukesha City Plan Commission unanimously approved final site plans Aug. 27 for a roughly 23,700-square-foot addition to Bridge Church at 1314 S. Grand Ave.
Doug, the city staff presenter, told the commission the addition would add worship and gathering space to the north of the existing building, remove a building at 1312 and convert one driveway into a stormwater facility. The plans show a right-in/right-out entrance at the north end, new patio space fronting Grand Avenue, foundation plantings and stormwater infrastructure. Staff recommended approval with standard city-department comments and noted that new signage will require sign permits.
Commission discussion included confirmation that surveys and studies addressed buried-refuse concerns from an older on-site dump area and that the design preserves existing parking access while changing two driveways. Staff noted the fire department requires the building to be sprinklered as part of the addition.
A motion to approve the final site plan and architectural review, subject to staff comments and sign-permit requirements, passed by voice vote with no opposition.
