The deputy director of public works has hired an additional worker to assist maintenance crews, increasing on‑site staff to four, staff stated. Park shelter and pavilion rentals are heavily booked on weekends, with multiple events including a wedding and a baptism noted for the coming weekend.
Staff also said the Marquette Park boat launch remains nonfunctional due to recurring north winds and persistent standing water that prevent safe operation. Maintenance staff cited manpower and weather as the main constraints on restoring boat‑launch availability.
The board requested continued updates and thanked maintenance staff for ongoing work.
