Lengby council approves routine business, appoints election judges and hires local mower

The Lengby City Council met Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Lengby Community Hall and approved routine business including the agenda, minutes and the June financial report. Mayor Paul Kahlbaugh opened the session at 5:15 p.m.
Council members approved the agenda on a motion by Council member Jennifer Godtland, seconded by Shirley Vasilakes. The body then approved the May 18 meeting minutes and the June financial report; Ben Walker moved to approve the financial report and Vasilakes seconded the motion. City Clerk-Treasurer Rosanne Erickson presented the report and flagged city-paid street lights; Walker volunteered to drive the city at night to mark lights and staff will request a map from Wild Rice.
The council appointed election judges for the primary and general elections. The appointees are Rosanne Erickson (Election Administrator and Head Judge), Ann Johnson (Head Judge), Dianne McIntosh, Janet Arnold and Shirley Vasilakes. The motion to appoint the judges was moved by Walker and seconded by Godtland.
On grounds maintenance, resident Rick Ringstad offered to mow the Community Hall property; the council agreed to let Ringstad determine when mowing is needed and approved a motion authorizing him to mow (mover: Walker; second: Godtland). Council members also confirmed Lengby Fest plans, discussed grant-writing assistance and park concerns, and set the next meeting for Monday, July 20, 2026, at 5:15 p.m.
The meeting concluded with an adjournment motion moved by Godtland and seconded by Walker.
