After handling permit business, the Platte County Planning & Zoning Commission conducted officer nominations and scheduling. A board member nominated Marty Shepherd as chairman and Bill Klein as vice chairman for another year; the nomination was seconded and described as "pretty unanimous" by members, with no formal ballot required.
The commission set its next meeting for Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. and noted that the primary agenda item will be a sizable rezoning application to change several thousand acres from ranching/agricultural/mining classification to industrial. The planner said the applicant requested a rescheduling to accommodate public attendance and indicated the rezoning file and materials are posted on the Platte County website for public review. Board members agreed the rezoning should be handled separately and that the meeting will allow time for a presentation and public comment.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:07 p.m.
