County hears plan to bring Compass Dental mobile unit to provide free care to seniors

Commissioners and attendees discussed transportation partnerships to bring seniors to the bus and emphasized that the program’s continuity depends on participation; the presenter said the bus will be used year after year so long as residents use it. Commissioners asked staff to share information and help publicize the program in the county.
No county funding appropriation was recorded in the July 7 minutes; the presenter said the Citizen Service Fund Board will pay costs and that dates will be announced for major towns across the county. Commissioners requested additional logistical information, including how long setup takes and whether temporary installations (such as on asphalt) would affect courthouse grounds when events are considered.
