Ruth Healy, president of the board for NAMI Berkshire, told the Human Services Advisory Council that the organization has lost board members and a tenant and is seeking a new meeting location in Pittsfield.
"NAMI’s primary focus is on the family members and giving them support to assist their loved one struggling with mental illness," Healy said, and she described monthly volunteer monitoring at Berkshire Medical Center and plans to repeat a youth mental‑health wellness fair held last July with the Pittsfield Farmers Market.
Healy said NAMI must complete a re‑affiliation process under new national standards and will meet with the NAMI Massachusetts executive director to discuss next steps. Council members asked about volunteer recruitment and training.
