Career center training leads to jobs for two graduates; board hears donations report

A staff presenter described two students who completed CDL training through the career center and obtained employment with IMI. "These two both got their class A CDL, which then allowed them to get full time employment with IMI," said the career-center speaker, who identified the graduates as Keith Shelton and Jayden Johnson. Board members praised the partnerships that connect students to employers and said such programs help grow the local workforce.
The board clerk reported two community donations: $500 from Mark and Karen Holt to Marion High School robotics and $350 from Playhouse Dance Studio LLC to MHS cheerleaders, bringing reported donations to $76,521.79.
What's next: Board members encouraged continued partnership and networking with local businesses to expand career opportunities for students and asked staff to continue promoting such programs.
