The Montgomery County Board of Education approved a broad set of administrative and principal appointments during its July 16 meeting, confirming a slate of central office leaders and school principals that the superintendent presented for the 2026–27 cycle.
Superintendent Dr. Taylor introduced each nominee, summarized their MCPS experience and career progression, and invited nominees to stand while colleagues and family were acknowledged. Appointments approved by unanimous voice vote included Nicole A. Sasek as associate superintendent in the division of school leadership and improvement; Dr. Jamila W. Denny and Dr. Latonya R. Williams in leadership roles in special education and inclusive learning; Shannon M. Farmer and Dr. Lisa M. Gaylord Jones (director roles in special education and related services); Kishara A. Perry as executive director in specialized support services; and Nicola A. Richards Wright as supervisor in college and career readiness. The board also approved numerous principal appointments, including Jeannie M. Chin (Roberto W. Clemente Middle School), Dr. Clifford J. Cooper Jr. (Garrett Park Elementary), Dr. Joshua S. Fine (White Oak Middle School), Jada Langston (Carl Sandburg Learning School) and others.
Board members offered short congratulations after each motion and second; the chair noted each vote was unanimous by those present. Dr. Taylor said the slate reflects deep MCPS experience and the district's focus on leadership aligned to its strategic priorities.
The approvals were procedural and did not include discussion of individual personnel performance beyond the biographical introductions. The board moved on to subsequent agenda items after the appointments segment.
